SlideUnderV2 Macbook Pro 16" is Live 🚀, Lenovo Expansion, AmazonNL Launch

DockedByDesign continues to evolve — and the past few weeks have been full of progress.

From product improvements to marketplace expansion and upgraded packaging, here’s a transparent look at what’s happening behind the scenes.

SlideUnder V2 for MacBook Pro 16” Is Now Live

The SlideUnder V2 for MacBook Pro 16” is officially available for ordering.

This version builds on everything that made V1 successful, but with a meaningful improvement specific to the 16” model.

Improved Ventilation & Reduced Noise Pressure

The 16” version now includes everything from the SlideUnderV2 MBP 14" and an upgraded rear side vent design:

  • The vent opening is larger
  • It’s not only cut out — the floor beneath it has a slight recession
  • This reduces pressure build-up and helps minimize airflow noise

This refinement isn’t present in the 14” model because the internal airflow behavior differs. The 16” benefits from that extra breathing space — and small details like this matter when you’re optimizing desk setups for performance and comfort.

DockedByDesign has always been about subtle refinements. This is one of them. Comparison V1 vs V2

Lenovo Series: Almost Ready

Expansion into Lenovo models is moving steadily forward.

  • The E16 is completed
  • The E14 requires minor tweaks
  • The full E-series should be available this weekend — or in the days shortly after

Next up: sourcing a T14 series model for development and testing.

Depending on demand, the focus after that may move toward:

  • T-series expansion
  • Possibly exploring the P-series or X-series

 

Amazon Netherlands Is Live (Test Phase)

DockedByDesign is now active on Amazon Netherlands.

This is currently a test phase.

Prices are slightly higher than on the DockedByDesign website. This reflects platform fees and operational costs. The goal right now is simple:

  • Validate listing performance
  • Understand Amazon customer behavior
  • Assess scalability

If the listings perform well, expansion to other European Amazon marketplaces is planned for later this year.

Direct-to-consumer remains the core — but strategic marketplace presence helps reach new audiences.

Packaging Upgrade in Progress

Until now, SlideUnder V1 and V2 have been shipped in:

  • Heat-sealed protective bags
  • Foldable book-style shipping packages

This has worked well for direct shipping.

However, with Amazon testing underway and potential retail opportunities in sight, packaging needs to evolve.

Over the coming weeks, DockedByDesign will likely move toward:

  • A dedicated product box (or two)
  • Recyclable foam corner protection inside
  • A presentation suitable for Amazon storage and potential retail placement

The goal:
Maintain minimalism — while upgrading durability and presentation.

Sustainability remains part of the decision-making process. The chosen foam corners for shipping are already in stock - just need to find a box that compliments it.

What’s Next?

The SlideShelf V1 project was temporarily paused — but not abandoned.

Development is expected to continue toward the end of the month.

Sometimes progress isn’t linear. It’s strategic.
