This is our story.
I wasn't trying to start a brand. I just had a problem with my desk.
I wanted my MacBook out of the way — mounted under the desk, hidden, clean. Nothing out there did what I needed, so I sat down and designed something myself. No reference products, no copying. Just a blank page, a problem to solve, and a printer.
Then people started asking about it.
I'm based in Rotterdam, and I still print every mount myself. Each piece is calibrated to under 0.1mm — because that's what port alignment on a MacBook actually requires. When your order ships, I built it.
I don't do this alone. My partner Bruna is part of everything — the honest voice when I'm overcomplicating a design, the reason the brand looks and feels the way it does. DockedByDesign is a two-person operation in the truest sense.

Every product in this lineup started the same way — I designed it from scratch, for a problem I actually had. No sourcing, no adapting someone else's idea. I sit down with the constraints, figure out what the right solution looks like, and build it.
The first mount went live quietly on Etsy. No launch, no marketing. Just a listing to see if anyone else had the same problem. They did.
That's still what drives this. Not just making products — but putting something into the world I genuinely made, and seeing where it ends up.

Most workspace gear is designed to photograph well. We design for the desk — for port alignment that clears your cables, for mounts that hold position after a year of daily use, for a profile so low you stop noticing it's there.
What keeps me going isn't the orders. It's seeing a photo of someone's setup with a DBD mount on it — a desk I've never been to, a workspace I had nothing to do with — and knowing something I designed is quietly making it work better. That's the whole point.
