Quick status first: the new project I've been hinting at is reasonably on track for Q2. It's not the headline release on its own; think of it as a stepping stone. But the most interesting thing it forced me to do was qualify a new material, and that part I'm genuinely excited about.

SlideUnder Crossbar Standard is live

The SlideUnder Crossbar Standard is now available. This is the accessible, everyday version of the Crossbar, with the same core geometry and fit, without the premium extras. If you've been waiting for a more entry-level option in the Crossbar line, this is it.

Elite editions begin, in PETG-CF

The bigger news: I'm slowly rolling out Elite editions across the whole range, the top-tier version of each system. What makes them Elite is the material. They're printed in PETG-CF, PETG reinforced with chopped carbon fiber, and qualifying it is exactly what the Q2 project pushed me to do. Three things made it the right call:

• Matte surface. It comes off the printer with a soft, low-gloss finish that hides layer lines and looks far more like a finished product than a print.
• Stiffer. The carbon fill raises rigidity noticeably, so brackets and arms flex less under load, exactly what a holder needs.
• More UV & heat resistant. It handles sun and warm rooms better than plain PETG, so parts hold their shape and color over time.

It's fussier to dial in, harder on nozzles and take more than twice as long to make, but the result is worth it. The editions won't all land at once; I'd rather get each one right than rush the set. First out of the gate:

• SlideUnder Elite
• SlideUnder Crossbar Elite
• SlideEdge Elite

More systems will get their Elite edition over the coming weeks.

One material qualification quietly unlocked the whole Elite line. That's usually how it goes. The boring groundwork is what makes the exciting stuff possible.

What's next: a mountable SlideEdge

There's also a new SlideEdge variant in the works. It supports the common 75×75 mounting pattern, so instead of only clamping to a desk edge it can attach to vertical flat surfaces like a wall, a panel, or the back of a monitor. It's still on the bench; I'll share more once the fit is locked.
