Phone & case
The MagSafe ring magnet snaps the Holder straight onto any MagSafe phone or case, no ring, no prep. Pull it off to film, snap it back.
Your portable SSD, snapped to whatever you're carrying.
I built the Holder for the same reason I built the SlideUnder: the thing that's supposed to travel with you shouldn't dangle off a cable. It's a PETG-CF shell that wraps your Samsung T7 or T7 Shield, with a MagSafe ring magnet set into the back. Snap it straight onto a MagSafe phone or case. For the MacBook lid, or a monitor, or anywhere else flat, stick on the one metal ring that's in the box and it snaps there too.
That's the whole idea: your SSD goes wherever you're working, and comes with you when you leave. Close the lid, walk to the next room, get in the car. The drive doesn't swing, doesn't catch, doesn't fall. Slide it off with one hand when you want to film with the phone, then snap it back.
Every Holder is printed and packed by hand here in Rotterdam. In the box: the Holder, one metal ring sheet, and an alcohol wipe to clean the surface first. This is an on-the-go product in its early days, same as the SlideUnder was at the start, so more photos and video are on the way shortly. If you want a specific drive supported, tell me.
MagSafe ring + one metal ring
Every SlideSSD Holder has a MagSafe ring magnet built into the back, so it snaps straight onto a MagSafe phone or case. For the MacBook lid or any other flat surface, one metal ring is in the box (3M VHB on the underside, ~0.6 mm thin). Stick it once; the Holder snaps there with the same force and alignment.
The MagSafe ring magnet snaps the Holder straight onto any MagSafe phone or case, no ring, no prep. Pull it off to film, snap it back.
Stick the included metal ring on your MacBook lid for the main carry, or a monitor side, desk rim, any flat non-MagSafe surface. Eyeball it; the Holder self-aligns.

Frequently asked
Yes, that's exactly what it's tuned for. The MagSafe ring magnet and the Holder are tuned together: it stays seated through normal carry but releases cleanly when you pull it off with one hand.
A note on misuse: it's designed for the Holder. Don't hang heavier objects (tools, headphones, anything else) off the ring, the adhesive is rated for the Holder's load, not a coat rack.
Samsung T7 and T7 Shield right now. SanDisk Extreme Portable V1 and V2 are validated and printing in test batches — join the drive-specific waitlist if that's your drive.
No. It's ~0.6 mm thin steel on 3M VHB, the same adhesive Apple uses internally. Removable with dental floss or a guitar pick if you ever change machines. We can't promise zero residue forever, but in practice it lifts clean.
The Holder ships with one metal ring for your main surface (the MacBook lid, for most people). MagSafe phones and cases need no ring at all, so a single ring covers the typical setup. Extra rings aren't sold separately yet.
No. The neodymium magnets in the Holder are too weak and too far from the NAND chips to affect flash memory. Modern SSDs don't use magnetic storage at all.
The Holder is sized for the bare drive. The T7 Shield's built-in silicone bumper does fit; aftermarket cases won't.
